The 2nd Mystery Guests single was recorded at Leyland Farm Studios, Bucks, UK. This recording featured a new incarnation of the band with Seaweed and Shrivs on guitar and percussion respectively.
Previously the band had had no drums so this was a first.
These two tracks are less abrasive than on the first single with a more organic sound overall and the lyrics playing a more important role.
Various extraneous voices can be heard in different parts of the songs: even the sound engineer chimed in at one point with 'Gone for a Burton'.
Everything that went on the tape was kept.
